Rhianna and I “met” each other through an online forum for mom’s. She and her husband, Jeff and their adorable baby, Charlotte live in Colorado She contacted me through Facebook, letting me know they were coming back to Illinois to visit with both of their families and they’d like a big family picture. Two families, made up of six separate families, seven couples, and eight kids. Pretty much the largest family group I’ve done since starting my business. I had a blast! Everyone is so photogenic, it was hard not to have a great time. Plus, the land and the barn on Rhianna’s sister’s property made a fantastic backdrop for the pictures. All the blues with the textures of the barn, perfect. Thank you so much, all of you for such a fantasic shoot!

One of my favorite things about my job is seeing people’s lives change, and being there to photograph it. Especially when I get to do it several times during their lives. To me, it’s an honor to be asked to come back and photograph another significant moment in their life. I was lucky enough to do Jason and Angela’s engagement pictures, and then their wedding back in 2008. Now, they just welcomed a beautiful baby girl into their life, Sydney Nicole. She was so sweet during the session! We were hoping she would stay asleep, but she was so interested in everything going on around her. Finally, during the last few minutes of the shoot, she fell completely asleep. She tried to keep her eyes open, but it was too much for her, and I was able to get a few sleeping shots.
Thanks so much, Jason and Angela for allowing me to come back and meet Sydney! And a big thank you to their older daughter, Emily for all your help!

If you’re not careful, Sydney will make your heart melt into a puddle at your feet. More pics to come soon!

This is my adorable nephew Ethan. I posted his sneak peek a while back, so I know you’ve been waiting anxiously for more. A little warning for you: You won’t be able to walk away from this post without having an insatiable desire to pinch his cheeks and kiss his sweet face. He was such a trooper. He went through several clothes changes and smiled through every set. His faces are just priceless! Enjoy! (Like I even have to tell you to…)
This is an example of a Portrait Study, available in one of the many new session types I’m offering. I take several close up shots of the cutest parts of your baby: feet, hands, elbow, eye, etc and then I combine your favorite images into a collage, which you receive as an 8×10 gallery wrap. Check out any of the other new session types and pick one that suits you! My favorite part about this image: For blogging and copyright purposes, Ethan has his cousin’s name tattooed on his tush. That’s hilarious. <3

This little guy is quite possibly the cutest little dude I know. I can say that because he’s my nephew. Here are a couple teasers for you from Ethan’s session this morning. I’ll have more up soon! Enjoy!

I cannot get enough of this baby, can you? One of my best friends, Jill invited me over to take pics of her gorgeous baby, Mia. I decided to go all out. Normally, I have a background, my flash, and always have auto shoot and auto focus on during shoots. Wouldn’t want to mess up. Or step out of my comfort zone. But since I’ve been getting more comfortable with going completely manual and using natural light, I decided to step out of my comfort zone and shoot completely natural. I didn’t even bring my backgrounds. And I had a blast!! I think I’m shedding the backgrounds for good!
As I said in my sneak peek of Mia, I used my two new (beautiful!) Murphalicious and Creamy Delight fringe blankets are from Custom Photo Props. I absolutely love them!!
Here is the beautiful Mia, and her beautiful mommy. Enjoy!
I think this one is my favorite out of the entire shoot.

Lily turned 3 months today, so I decided to do her 3 month shots in between the craziness that was my day. It was actually my first real shoot with her, her newborn pictures were actually done by Bella Baby Photography right at the hospital. She did so well and we had so much fun! She is such a sweet little baby. She just talked to me and stared at the big lens in front of her- like she usually does. She gave me a few smiles too. I just love this little girl!

I drove to Chicago this morning to do a sitting with a newborn baby, Matthew, and his sister, Elsie. Matthew was born around the same time that my daughter, Lily was born. Mom was nice enough to let me bring Lily along for the shoot and she was a perfect little angel, sleeping through the whole sitting! Matthew is just adorable with his head full of hair and his big beautiful eyes! And Elsie is such a sweetie, and so photogenic! Thanks for a great shoot and thanks for letting me bring Lily along!

One of my best friend’s sister just had twin girls and I got to shoot my very first twin sitting! They were preemies, as most twins are, so we had to wait a few weeks for them to come home. They were so good and they put up with my constant posing. They’re beautiful Julia, congratulations! Welcome home Kayla & Zoey!
