Happy Halloween! Ava was Dorothy for Halloween and she just picked up the part and ran with it! Or, skipped down the yellow brick road with it. This year she needed no coaxing to knock on those doors and ask for candy. She really did a great job. She even used her please and thank you’s! She needed some help with some of the high doorbells, but other than that, she was all over it! I may be biased, but I really think she is the prettiest Dorothy ever. Eat your heart out Judy Garland.

I really had a hard time only picking a few of the pictures from this wedding. Kristen & Chris (a.k.a Skip) are such an adorable couple! I don’t think the smiles left their faces. Except maybe when Kristen was saying her vows. It was so cold for the bridal party pictures at Lake Katherine, but we pulled it off and no one looks cold! Thanks for a great day!

I love the Bennett Curtis House! I was married here and this is the second wedding I’ve shot here. I went to high school with Julie, and I did her cousin’s wedding earlier this year. So I was pretty excited to do this wedding. The sun was pretty brutal and it was extremely hot that day, so it made things a little difficult post production. But I’m glad everything turned out beautiful. Thanks for choosing me, Julie and congratulations to you and Jared on your little one coming soon!

Stephanie worked with my sister, so when she and Joe were looking for a photographer, my sister recommended me. I love the bridesmaids dresses! And with the red flowers, everything looked so classy. It was nice to be able to visit with my sister at the reception as well. Thanks for recommending me Fran!

We took a weekend trip down to St. Louis to visit some friends. We had a great time! I haven’t been to St. Louis since I was a kid and Todd had never been. I even built up the courage to ride in the washing machines of death up to the top of the Arch! It wasn’t so bad up there. Ava didn’t seem to mind! The food was pretty good, but they I don’t think they have one hot dog or pizza joint in the entire city. Not like Chicago anyway. We survived. It was a great weekend getaway!

My husband’s cousin, Jeff and his wife Renee contacted me to take pictures of their family. We took Ava and Todd and I drove out to a beautiful nature reserve out in Loves Park. I had a great time, Olivia, the little one was a little hard, but that’s the age. She actually did very well compared to most her age. You just have to work on her time. We eventually got some great smiles out of her in the end!

My best friend wanted to get some pictures of her boys, Tylor and Gavin, so we drove around searching for a great spot. We found this animal clinic not to far from where we live and it was the most striking red on the outside. Plus, they had a field in the back to let the kids run in. So, after asking permission to use their land, we took about an hour and let them run around. Ava, of course, wanted to be involved, so I took a bunch of her as well. Melaina was nice enough to take a picture of Ava and I, since I don’t usually get in front of a lens often.
