My sister, Jessica wanted to get some pictures taken of her daughter for her 18 month milestone and get some pictures of her family too. So we decided to head to the beach. It wasn’t exactly warm enough to go in the water, but the blue sky and sandy beach almost made it look like we live in California. Todd and I decided to take advantage of it and get our very first family pictures taken as well. What a great day!

I’ve known Brenda and her family for as long as I can remember. We grew up in the same church and we went to the same high school. So when she got in touch with me and asked me to be her photographer for her wedding, I was overjoyed- for her and to do her wedding. It was such a gorgeous day and the ceremony was held in Brenda’s parent’s backyard- what a beautiful site! Brenda and Rich make such a beautiful couple. I’m so happy for both of them!

I love this idea instead of unity candles! Easier for outside weddings too!
This was great! The bridal party was introduced to the theme of “The Sopranos” and they all had sunglasses and cigars. Even the little ones!

Brenda dancing with her dad.
I’ve never seen this before! The guy who caught the garter (Brenda’s brother, Rich) got to put it on the leg of the girl who caught the bouquet! Every inch he was allowed to go was another year of happiness for Brenda and Rich!

I told you we’d be back! I decided to take Ava back to the nature preserve for her 3 year old pictures. I invited my best friend, Melaina to bring her son along because his 4th birthday is a week before Ava’s and I thought it might be nice to get their pictures together. They’re as best friends as a 3 and 4 year old can be, so why not? I didn’t want the typical posed pictures this year and I thought of this idea about a week before hand. Ava is a bit of a tomboy and Tylor is the typical boy, so I wanted to bring that out. So I dressed her up in a white dress and Lain dressed Ty in a t-shirt and jeans, we brought them to the muddiest part of the forest preserve and let them loose! And it turned out to be my all time favorite shoot…hands down! You’ll forgive me for being biased of course haha! I couldn’t possibly pick just a few from this, so there are a whole bunch to show off. And to answer your question- No, the mud never did come out of either outfit!

No problems getting Ty to jump in!
Ava was a bit timid at first. “Oh no! My dress!!”

How cute is that?

Finally we have some decent weather! My girlfriend told me about a nature preserve nearby (been here 5 years and I had no idea!) so Todd and I decided to take Ava for a walk to check it out. We had a great time and I think we’ll be making this a regular hang out this summer. Ava loved it, she was so interested in everything! We walked for about a mile and I think Ava would have walked the entire 3 miles if we stayed. But the sun was going down and we didn’t feel like getting stuck in the woods after dark. We’ll be back though!
LOVE this shot!
She looks so tiny!
Watching the deer that ran past us.
Ava telling us to be quiet when we see deer.
And a parting shot that I just loved.
